The Footbag, also known as Hacky
Sack, was created in 1972 and has
developed into an urban sport phenomenon.
Dismissed by some who see it simply as a recreational activity, this
film highlights how technical, aesthetic and spectacular this sport
can be. The best players on the planet come together to discuss all
aspects of the sport: its origins and how it developed, the
skill and dedication needed to excel, and how the internet helped the
sport receive wider acknowledgement.
The documentary includes interviews with all the key players, intercut
with stunning sequences of footbag footage dynamically edited to music.
The best players in the world are featured competing in events all
over Europe; in Vienna (Austria), Prague (Czech Republic), Frankfurt
(Germany) at the World Championship 2006 and in Lausanne (Switzerland)
at the European Championship 2006.
The documentary shows how fun, exciting and exhilarating the sport
is, helping to spread the word about footbag and encourage people to ‘join
the circle’.
